Polyethylene (PE) – LLDPE/HDPE
Polyethylene (PE) is a thermoplastic polymer with a variable crystalline structure and a vast range of applications depending on the particular type. PE is one of the most widely produced plastics in the world (tens of millions of tons are produced worldwide each year). Polyethylene is used in applications ranging for films, tubes, plastic parts, laminates, etc. in several markets (packaging, automotive, electrical, etc.)
Polyethylene is made from the polymerization of ethylene (or ethene) monomers. PE belongs to the polyolefin family of polymers and is classified by its density and branching.
Polypropylene (PP)
Polypropylene is one of those most versatile polymers available with applications, both as a plastic and as a fiber, in virtually all of the plastics end-use markets.
Polypropylene’s unique qualities and ability to adapt make it suitable for an extremely wide range of applications. Its chemical resistance makes it useful as a material for solvent containers Other very common uses for polypropylene include flexible packaging, rigid packaging, piping, food containers, clear plastic bags, ropes, carpets, and concrete reinforcement. Polypropylene fibers are used in clothing and diapers.
